Hotel History

This gorgeous 1930s art deco hotel will literally take your breath away not only because of the beauty of it, but the history that has happened within it. President Franklin D. Roosevelt hosted the first Inaugural Ball in 1933 – a presidential tradition that carried on for many decades. This made the Omni Shoreham a Washington, DC, legend in its own right. The list of celebrities who entertained or stayed at the Omni is endless. Legends like Judy Garland, Aretha Franklin, Tony Bennett, Bob Hope, Joe DiMaggio and more. Even the Beatles slept here in 1964 during their first American tour.
