The digital series, Reach Out, includes resources for FGS Member Societies. Current editions include: Youth, College/Universities, Historians, Librarians, Corporate Opportunities/Outside Relationships, and Archives. Each downloadable edition contains sections that focus on projects and volunteer opportunities, partnerships, education, membership, financial considerations, and letters of agreement. 
 
  • NEW! FGS Member Society Leaders Facebook Group — Network with other leaders, learn from each other, and get feedback on society management ideas. This group is for any leaders of a FGS Member Society including board members, chairs of committees, etc., not just the Member Society's main contact and delegate.
 
  • Webinars — The FGS Webinar Series covers society mangement topics to help you manage and lead your society. Each new webinar will be available for free for 30 days and then be placed behind the Members-only wall for members to access at any time of the day or night.
 
  • Member Insider — Member Society Leaders can opt-in to receive our monthly email publication which includes society management tips, examples, and timely reminders to help you get the most out of your FGS Membership.

  • Bylaws Review — Strengthen the foundation of your organization by allowing our team of experts to review your organization's bylaws to identify areas in need of improvement and to provide solutions.
 
  • Newsletter Review — Newsletters are a tried and true way of communicating with your members. However, with fast-paced changes in technology, much has changed about newsletters. Allow our team of newsletter reviewers to assess your society's newsletter and to provide tips to improve your newsletter and its effectiveness for your society and its purpose.
 
  • Website Review — Your website might be the first encounter a potential member has with your society, and for certain, it is the hub of information and benefits for your current members and the genealogical community as a whole. Our team of website of reviewers will thoroughly analyze your website and give you feedback to make your society website the best it can be.
 
  • Member Societies can promote their society in the FGS Society Showcase at the annual FGS National Conference (usually August/September). Member Societies who choose to promote in person have access to reserve a Society Showcase table in the exhibit hall at a deep discount; those Member Societies who cannot be there in person, may send flyers for the frequently-visited Society Showcase Displays located throughout the FGS Booth.
 
  • A Member Society's delegate can take advantage of face-to-face interaction and collaboration with other society delegates as well as FGS leadership at the Delegate Reception at the annual FGS National Conference.
 
  • Member Societies can recognize their volunteers with the FGS Awards Program. FGS provides a national level awards recognition opportunity for member societies' volunteers which are awarded at the annual FGS National Conference and promoted to tens of thousands of people across the U.S. and around the world via our Voice Blog, our monthly Voice Newsletter, our quarterly FORUM e-magazine, and throughout our social media channels. Membership Dues:
 
The membership year for FGS runs from January 1st through December 31st. New memberships received between October 1st through December 31, 2015 will be for the next calendar year and expire December 31, 2016. Membership dues for Member Societies are based on number of members:
